Quick answer

Collectibility vs everyday use
The Fontaine FTP Red is a numbered limited edition of just 1,000 decks, making it a true collector's item. Its classic red colorway stays true to the iconic Fontaine style, which appeals to fans of the brand and those seeking a standout deck for display or special performances.
The Anyone Grey Checks, while also a limited edition, is produced in larger quantities and printed by the United States Playing Card Company (USPCC). Its grey check pattern is understated and versatile, making it a practical choice for daily cardistry practice or casual magic without worrying about wear and tear.
Handling and performance
Both decks are designed for cardistry and magic, but their handling characteristics differ based on their construction. The Fontaine FTP Red uses premium quality stock from Paperdecks, which is known for a smooth, snappy feel that many cardists enjoy for fans, cuts, and aerials.
The Anyone Grey Checks, printed by USPCC, benefit from the company's long-standing reputation for consistent, reliable handling. The deck is well-suited for both beginners and experienced cardists who want a predictable, durable deck that can handle repeated use.
Price and value
The Fontaine FTP Red is priced at USD 22.68 (catalog comparison price USD 36.00), reflecting its limited availability and collector appeal. If you are looking for a deck that may appreciate in value or serve as a centerpiece in a collection, this is a strong option.
The Anyone Grey Checks is more budget-friendly at USD 14.06 (catalog comparison price USD 19.00). It offers excellent value for cardists who want a high-quality deck for regular practice or performance without the premium price tag.
